The Duna-Ipoly National Park (Hungarian: Duna-Ipoly Nemzeti Park) is a protected area in Hungary, stretching across the region between the Danube River (Duna) and the Ipoly River. It was established in 1997.

The park encompasses a variety of landscapes: highland forests (in the Pilisszent‑László Hills and Börzsöny Mountains), river valleys, karst caves and plains.

It is known for its biodiversity, including many caves (some 334 in the Pilis region) and habitats that are rare in Hungary.

Additional Notes

  • The park office (directorate) is located in Budapest, though the park itself spreads over a broader region north of the city.

  • Example of a visitor centre within the park: the “Hiúz Ház / Lynx House” Visitor Centre in Királyrét (2624 Szokolya), phone +36 27 585 625 / +36 30 238 0063.
