A coil spring system is a suspension setup where the vehicle’s weight is supported by helical (coil-shaped) steel springs. These springs compress and expand as the car moves over uneven surfaces, absorbing shock and keeping the ride smooth.
It’s the same principle as a compressed metal spring—just much stronger and engineered for automotive use.
How It Works
A typical coil spring suspension includes:

Control arms / axle links – hold the wheel assembly in position.
When the wheel hits a bump:

The coil spring compresses to absorb the impact.
