Transmission refers to the component that transmits power from the engine to the wheels. It is a crucial part of the drivetrain system. The transmission allows the driver to control the power generated by the engine and apply it to the wheels to control the vehicle's speed.

There are two main types of transmissions:

  1. Automatic Transmission: In an automatic transmission, the vehicle shifts gears automatically without requiring the driver to manually engage a clutch or shift gears.

  2. Manual Transmission: In a manual transmission, also known as a "stick shift," the driver manually selects and engages gears using a clutch pedal and a gearshift.
